During Rev. Dr. Jim Milley’s five years serving Jesus as a missionary in Ethiopia, he saw the profound, positive effect on the lives of people through local leaders without seminary education and without full-time salaries. On his return to the United States, Jim drew inspiration from his Ethiopian leaders when starting Bridges.
Could it be possible to do church in America without the high cost of full-time salaries, large buildings, and large programs?
Jim’s answer to the issue he raised to himself was to form Bridges. Today Bridges provides services to Bridge Leaders in six states, who help to coalesce communities of people who now are learning to live through Christ in ways that improve local communities.
