Released Time / Redemptive Relationships

| Bio Description |
After three decades of missionary service, mainly in Africa, Catharine Coon now resides in far northern California. According to Barna, the area between Redding and Chico is one of the most unchurched and post-Christian in America. Many of the communities also have high rates of poverty and family dysfunction.
Catharine works with a team taking advantage of California’s released time law, allowing religious instruction for public school students during school hours. Once a week in cooperation with a public junior high school, she and her team talk about God and his Word with highly interested youth. Many have given their lives to Jesus. Catharine also builds redemptive relationships at a local restaurant and a coffee shop and brings the light of Jesus to the community through volunteering at a major non-profit in the area.
