What is the best way to “refresh” the BridgesUS Branding Guide?

BridgesUS is going to need to go through at least an update or a “refresh” for our brand guide. We branded 11 years ago as “Bridges.” Now we are “BridgesUS.” So, our logo does not currently match our official name. Of course, there is a lot more in the Bridges Branding Guide than a logo. We have our Brand graphic filter, brand attributes, brand color pallets, fonts, grammatical guidelines, and graphic guidelines. But since our logo no longer matches our name, perhaps this next year is a good time for a “refresh.”

I am wondering if we could gather our collective wisdom and knowledge.

What is the best way to go about updating the Bridges’ brand identity? Do we just ask ChatGPT? Hire someone in Pakistan? Do you know someone? Do you know a company you really like? What are your thoughts? Who do you know?

One person I talked to today suggested that we have a prize for the person that has the best idea. Do you think we should run a contest around this effort? How would that work?

I think not a contest that we pit against each other but maybe allow to submit ideas of designs and create something together from designs or a design and the collaborators receive gift cards starting from $100 $70 $50 depending on the amount of input.

Just an idea but could be twicked.

    Blessings

The US Patent & Trademark Office shows 6,608 results for “Bridges.” Of those, 4,403 are “dead or abandoned.” The remaining 2,265 registered or pending include a huge number in which “Bridges” is only one part of the organizational name (Highstreet Bridges, an IT management company; Bridges Together, educational services; and on and on).

We are in the second row of the two-by-two listing, under a pair of organizations which are “dead or abandoned,” and out listing shows our current graphic and name in B&W. (Others have color.)

    Perhaps lawyers have advised otherwise.

The fact that the Bridges on the logo, with its graphics, doesn’t exactly match the corporate name doesn’t seem to me to be an obstacle.

If you’re saying that the graphics could use an update, absolutely well and absolutely good, but I’m not sure we want to solicit ideas from Pakistan, where there are only some 900+ suspension bridges to inspire a designer [insert smiling emoji here]. The U.S. has 1,445 suspension bridges, out of a total of over 600,000 lesser bridges. How many bridges are there to God?

What about the same logo of the orange bridge but inside an outlined shape of the US map?

Like the bridge is inside an orange outline of the United States.
