I often ponder, “You have not because you ask not.”

    From James 4:

2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.

Jesus said, “Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete” in John 16:24. Similar statements are found in Matthew 7:7; 21:22; Mark 11:24; Luke 11:9; and John 15:7.

When I was cleaning out old paperwork, I noticed that intentions that I had set years ago have been fulfilled. Not necessarily in the way that I had expected.

Others are still on the horizon, but I have moved closer to their fulfillment.

Boldness in asking, I assume, comes from teaching that it is possible and worthy.

It comes from experiencing that the I Am is our Provider.

It comes from habit. And in the asking, adding the habit of aiming towards the goals as we love the Almighty, with our heart, soul, mind and strength.
